6. Special considerations

  • If the same product with the same order line data is added to the cart twice, then the two product instances are stacked as one product.
    (Note: This does not include parts lists, which are still displayed as individual products in the cart.)
     
  • When two instances of the same product with different data in the order line field are added to the cart, then the products are listed as two separate products.

Can I calculate product prices based on the input in the custom order line field?

Yes, but if you need to calculate new product prices based on the input that the customer enters in the order line field, you will have to use the Dynamicweb eCommerce API.
